Reclaiming Autonomy for Women

It's been one year since women in the US lost their federal protection over their right to privacy and autonomy when it came to their healthcare. Now, I've been working on doing a post about how we can talk to each other about abortion but it's taking longer than I expected.

I had planned on doing a separate post about the political and legal fight about abortion, so here it is while I continue to work on the other one.

Working to change something on a federal scale can seem daunting, but it's possible. The small group of extremists that fought to remove the the rights of women worked decades to accomplish their goal. They're also not done yet. They continue to work to suppress the rights of women and to demonize the Trans community all of which they claim to be "for the children."

I won't go into why this is all a lie, but if you would like me then just let me know.

The point of this entry is that we can overturn the efforts of these extremists much faster than it took them to achieve their goals. Fascists have always been a (loud) minority of the population.

So what can you do? Well, we are stronger together than we are apart, so joining an organization such as the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, NOW, or NARAL would be a good start.

Now, how can you give, well that depends on what you have available, time and/or money. If you have the time, then volunteer to help out. They always need people to get the work done. If you have the money then they always need donations to get their work done. I personally have no free time, but I give to several of those organizations. There is always a way to help. We are not powerless. We can fight and we can fix this.

Let me know if I missed anything. I'll work on getting out the entry on how we can talk to each other about this.
